Our Athletics Department is using an extensive communication system for parents of athletes. This website, http://www.highschoolsports.net, gives users up-to-date information on a daily basis and includes several tools that allow parents to plan more efficiently.
Some of those features include:
The ability to view calendar in a 2-day, week or month view,
Color-coding for practices and home\away games,
Detailed information on each event, including times, locations, transportation, departure times, early releases and directions to sites,
Automatic notification of changes made to games via e-mail, cell phone or PDA,
Updated scores and stats from individual games, and
Listings of most school and TAPPS events as well!
How To Use HighSchoolSports.net:
First, you will need to create a free account and sign up for your team as each season begins. (Otherwise, you will be receiving e-mail notifications when our Athletics Department inputs game schedules before the sport is even in season.)
Signing up is an easy process.
It takes about five minutes to complete. Please follow the steps below:
Go to HighSchoolSports.net. This will take you to the main calendar for our school in 2-day view.
Click on Login if you already have an account or Register here to create an account.
Select Parent, Student Athlete, Fan/Other, Coach, Student or Media
Fill in all fields and Click Create My Account
You will see that your account has been created
Click on Alert Settings and verify your email address
Click Add to select or deselect Email, Phone/Test or Twitter
Click on send a test message if you would like a test message sent to you
Click Manage Favorites to add a specific team or add another school
Click Add Team, select the gender, level and sport then Click Add
Click Edit and select Notifications, Stats or Photos and Videos
Click Member Info to edit your information or log out to exit
There are many additional features that you will come to love as you explore the website. If you click on any team name in red, it will lead you to Mapquest for directions.
Sometimes schools play at different sites off campus. To that end, our Athletics Department will utilize a feature to help you locate those venues. When you look at the 2-day view, you will sometimes see a red thumbtack next to an opponent’s school name. This feature allows us to enter directions "by hand" for those games being played “off site." If you will click on that thumbtack, you will get directions to the correct venue.
